Storylab was a proud sponsor of the icebreaker event at the ABQ BioPark on the evening of March 28, 2017 at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Mid-Year Meeting in Albuquerque. Storylab invited attendees to experience our VR fish demo, which allowed users to explore Lake Tahoe below its surface, view the lake bed and follow various indigenous trout species that can be found there. Additional information was also available for viewers, such as fish species, average depth, temperatures other facts. This information allowed viewers to contextualize the experience on the spot.
Storylab also featured an augmented reality experience, which featured specially designed posters that allowed additional content to be visible when a tablet or smartphone was placed in front of them. For many attendees, this was their first VR and AR experience and they were both a hit!
Storylab was also an exhibitor at the AZA conference held at the Albuquerque Convention Center. We had fun meeting people and helping the zoo and aquarium community understand how augmenting existing spaces and utilizing technology can enhance their exhibits and attract new and repeat visitors.
