Electric Playhouse Studios worked with the New Mexico BioPark Society to bring several new experiences to the 2016 River of LIghts event.
First, Electric Playhouse Studios projected a media art piece on the exterior of the Butterfly Pavilion. As visitors passed by, motion detectors sensed them, which triggered additional content that moved based on the visitors actions. Using skeletal tracking and depth sensing, the experience would allow visitors to create their own light show.
Electric Playhouse Studios also brought a large tree to life for the River of Lights exhibit. As visitors walked by the tree, the character on the tree would smile, look around and gaze at the visitors.
Lastly, Electric Playhouse Studios produced a light and laser show for the Conservatory. Visitors were enveloped in a red and green world that covered all of the walls, floor and the native plants.
Storylab 2016 River of Lights
Storylab got into the holiday spirit and created a collection of interactive displays for the ABQ BioPark Society for the 2016 River of Lights event. Each year millions of lights in more than 500 displays are enjoyed by visitors in New Mexico’s largest walk-through light show. River of Lights was named one of the 15 most spectacular holiday light displays in the U.S. by MSN in November, 2016 and Storylab was proud to create interactive displays to enhance the visitor experience.
